Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger, was the creator of the said app. Released on October 6, 2010 as free mobile app. Instagram is distributed through the AppleApp Store and Google Play. Support for the app is available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Windows 10 devices and Android handsets.

Kevin Systrom who was born on December 30, 1983 is an American. He is known as entrepreneur and programmer. He is now the CEO of Instagram. He graduated in 2006 from Stanford University with his bachelor’s degree in management science and engineering. After graduating, he was chosen to participate in highly prestigious Mayfield Fellows Program. He joined Google as an associate product marketing manager. He also created a prototype called Burbn which combines location check-ins and popular social games. This is where he was associated to Mike Krieger.(Mark Krieger was born on March 4, 1986. A brazillian entrepreneur and software engineer.)They combined their knowledge to create Burbn and released the said prototype. However, recalling their studies in Mayfield Fellows Program, Krieger and Systrom identified that Burbn contained too many features and the users did not want a complicated product. They decided to focus on one specific feature, photo-sharing. The development of Burbn led to creation of Instagram. A month after launching, Instagram had grown to 1 million users. A year later, Instagram hit more than 10 million users.
